Ooops!!!! Been away too long!!!

Soz for being away so long!! Things got a tad busy and completely forgot about my little blog!!

Anyways, been mainly crocheting lately, little garments for my daughter mainly, but thought i'd show you a little pic of one of my previous projects.

Kitty catnip whale

Simple pattern and made in about an hour, i ended up stuffing it with dried catnip as well as padding!!

Holographic Flake Fun

A while ago i was searching eBay for something slightly different to use on my nails when i stumbled upon some automotive holographic flake!!! The stuff is designed to be sprayed into cars but i thought to myself why not use it with some UV gel!!!

Well this was the result, unfortunately the pic does not do the nails any justice, under direct sunlight they have the most amazing rainbow sparkle effect, almost like a mobile disco!!

After a few days i got fed up with the stickers i encased into the gel so i filed them back, top coated them and had a play at hand painting with acrylic paints!!

Earrings good enough to eat!!!

I got bored one day and decided to play with some polymer clay, i decided to use a cake theme so we have French Fancies and donuts (my brother keeps calling them party rings). Best part is they are coated in a scented clear nail polish so they even smell yummy too!!!

Blood splatter nails!!!

 I saw a tutorial for this and just had to try it!!! Definitely a look for Halloween!!! My friends had to do a double take as they thought I'd scratched someones eyes out!!!

A real sweety!!!

I absolutely love jewellery based on sweets, so when i saw a tutorial on how to turn gummy bears into beads i just had to try it out with my favourite sweets Dolly Mixtures!!!

Quite simple to make if you can resist the urge to eat them as you go!!!!! I created a hole through the centre of the sweets using a toothpick then used a pin, so i had something to hold onto, and dunked each sweet into clear varnish, let the excess varnish drip of and then use the pin to stand them up in a piece of polystyrene!!!! After 24hrs (depending on the varnish used) they were ready!!! Unfortunately i did think and bought Ronseal varnish and even though its clear it left a slight stain but it still looks good!!!! Also where they smell of varnish you don't have the urge to eat them!!!

Sticking with the Vampire theme!!!

This was my second attempt at a sculpted stiletto nail, i only did one as I'd never be able to sculpt my right hand at all!!!! This was actually really simple, sculpted using clear gel mixed with a cheap black loose powder eye shadow, used white gel for the teeth, then added some clear gel with red glitter to look like blood!! The best bit is that to can actually feel the teeth individually!!!

Wish i could of done them all like this, just not as sharp i think!!

First attempt at a shrink plastic ring!!!

Morning, this was my first attempt at a shrink plastic ring and don't think it turned out too bad actually!!

None of this is drawn by hand, i cheated, and traced it off my laptop screen, but i wanted it to look right and the writing had to be backwards and there was no way i could do that neatly!!

To adjust the pic on the laptop was simple, in photoshop i just desaturated the pic so it was black/white and then played with the contrast and brightness settings till i got what almost looks like a line drawing!!! Simple!!

Contest Piece, and my early birthday pressie!!!

These nails were created for a blog contest and i was surprised that i actually one. Planning on doing these nails on myself one day!!

Can't believe I'm still beaming about the early birthday pressie my mum got me yesterday!!! I've been after a new sewing machine for ages and had been eyeing up the vintage hand-crank ones!! Couldn't believe our luck when we found one in a charity shop, and managed to knock them down from £40 to £20!!! YEY!! Will be posting some pics of it when my camera is charged up!!!

This was my first attempt at wire jewellery making, i love this as you don't have to be exact with the sizes!!

Ocean Blue Nails

These were my favourite gel nails, i used clear stiletto tips, green and blue pigments with clear gel, some holographic flake, silver polish and tiny silver balls. A friend of mine told me they reminded her of the ocean.

First bag i made - Ivory Leatherette Sling Bag
